San Luis Obisbo, California

Spent the last two days hanging out with Jordan and Meleah of N'Credible Edibles. This dynamic duo of non-stop energetic flow is all about changing the face of suburban yards. The company logo on the back of their work truck reads “Food not Lawns!” below their logo of a giant mushroom. The reason for the m… Continue

Quail Springs Permaculture Training

I just got back from a 3-week fantabulostic permaculture course taught at Quail Springs. The amount of information received exceeded my expectations, the quality of knowledge transfer almost blew my mind. My taste buds were completely satisfied as well as my mind, body, and soul. We adventured out to the top of the watershed, blindfolded through a redwood forest, through Fresno manmade tunnels, up the spring in the middle of a thunderstorm, through a pond for an aquaculture lecture, and many mor… Continue

Winter veggies for FREE

Hey everybody (Jorge),

I have a flat and a half of baby winter veggies, collard greens, radish, bok choy, chinese kale, and so on that need to be planted within the nest week or so. I have used up all my space and want to share my bounty. If you need them let me know. I also have some sweet heirloom seeds from the seed savers exchange, which I will not be using this season because I used all I need. Some include 2 types of winter squash. Holla at ya boy if needs be.

Trying something new for the bugs!

I have bought dog beds with ceder chips so i bought a bag of "pet bedding" ceder chips at K-Mart, touted as a natural flea control product. i started with the artichokes and then put it all around the plants by the front door --snail and slug-- paradise. BINGO! I'll keep you posted it this works the way i think it will!

Ecological Footprint

After taking an ecological footprint test, evaluating my overall land usage in comparison, per capita.

-STEP LIGHTLY-

I took the Ecological Footprint Quiz with my current living situation. Before I took the quiz, my roommates and I always seemed to talk about how sustainable we (thought we) were! We were proved very wrong. If everybody lived how we live, we would need 4.1 planets! I find it funny, considering we are in the CAED(College of Architecture and Enviro… Continue
